Changing Perspective - Health & Food - Musings

AFTER

Something has happened to my thinking. I feel the same and yet I am not the same.

It all started when my daughter (knowing my great interest in these matters) gave me a book at Christmas called “The Medical Medium”. Wherever psychics are concerned I am a bit of a soft touch, although I am not by any means always impressed by the depth of some of the revelations.

However encouraged by the fact that Robert de Niro amongst many other well-known folks, had highly recommended this person, Anthony William, I read on with avidity.

As a healer myself  I work tracing the mental and emotional connections to the particular illness requiring healing so that repairs are made on all fronts. Anthony William, with the assistance of his guide, sees the source of illness as being in our unhealthy livers.

As he sees it (or as his spiritual guide sees it) due to certain types of unhealthy food and contamination from external toxins, we clog up our livers so that the normal cleansing action of this precious organ cannot happen. He advises us in great detail about what foods and supplements will heal a variety of problems.

I have had a big problem with my skin in the past, a kind of eczematic outbreak over my whole body which I have almost completely cured using my own Core Energy Technique, but I am still working with a few little bits which break out on my face and neck. For me, then, it was interesting to read about Anthony William’s (AW) take on skin problems in relation to the liver’s inability to cleanse and heal us because of the problems we impose upon it.

I will not go into precise details here, but I decided to put his findings to the test and embarked upon the stronger 9 day liver cleanse, as opposed to the 28 day cleanse he speaks about in his first book,‘Medical Medium’.

Deep breath …

Although I have been vegetarian and pescatarian most of my life and have eaten with an eye to whole foods, I discovered new supplements such as red dragon powder and dulse flakes. I love these new smoothies which incorporate these supplements, as they come out looking bright pink! These were definitely the highlight of the 9 day regime, both for me and the husband. Of course he had to be dragged along into the experiment …. especially as he had contracted Typhoid when we were in India last year.

All went very well given there was a very clear regime of meals to follow but I must say it feels strange not to have any fats at all coming into my body: no bread, no oatcakes (even gluten and sugar free!), no oil of any kind (including coconut). Actually the blueberry muffins in the first three days drew great hurrahs! However although I felt alright with everything as things unfolded, I also straddled a feeling of being in a constant state of wrong footedness.

AW opines that after the 9 days you will “be in a very different place … physically as well as emotionally and spiritually.” So back to my original point. There has been a subtle but deep shift somehow and although I am fairly health conscious this regime has put me on a new level.

The morning after completing the 9, I had a very interesting meditation where certain memories from my childhood were suddenly rejigged; the familiar took on a different perspective which surprised me, resulting in a new understanding. And yes, a deep healing took place as a result.

So I am the same, but not the same.

How intriguing.
